University of Illinois Jock Jams SUCCESS!!
University of Illinois’’ Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) hosted their second annual Jock Jams, a student-athlete variety show, in order to raise money for SALSC and two other organizations, Salt & Light and Boys and Girls Club.
The total funds raised are estimated to be around $20,000, with online donations and ticket money yet to be calculated. $10,000 of this total will go towards building a school in Ecuador, SALSC’s service project for 2011.
In total, 998 tickets were sold with an estimated 1,000 people in attendance.
In the competition, men’s wrestling took third, men’s track and field took second, and women’s track and field took first, while men’s football received “most improved.”

The hard work and enthusiasm displayed by SAAC and the student-athlete participants is greatly appreciated and will be a great contributor in providing for the children in need in Ecuador.
