SALSC Serve-athon in Chicago

June 9th 2012

Hey currents SALSCer’s, future SALSCer’s and SALSC supporters!  Another year has come and SALSC is ready to step up the game of change!  Just like practice and competition this year we are looking for new ways to improve and grow.  We’ve gone abroad to Kenya and Ecuador to make a difference, but this year we wanted to give back on the national level!

SALSC is planning a service project in Chicago on June 9th 2012 and we couldn’t be more excited! The event is called Serve-a-thon and is put on by Chicago Cares.  Chicago Cares has a number of programs that work to make a difference in the communities of Chicago through volunteerism. Through Serve-a-thon we will be adding paint to dull classrooms, creating colorful murals and tile mosaics to foster school spirit, planting flowers and landscape to make schools more inviting, organizing libraries to make books more accessible, and painting playground line games and maps to encourage healthy activity.  The more change makers we have for the national project the more we grow!  We’re hoping student-athletes and administration can come together for this summer event to team up and lead social change!  There’s more information to come soon just keep checking back on our website for updates.  Thanks for all your support and your drive to make a difference in the world we live in!
