Our Raffle Winner

One of our most exciting fundraising efforts was our virtual raffle.  For every 100 dollars the athletes were able to raise, they received one virtual raffle ticket.  This was an opportunity for those athletes who may not have the support needed from their schools to guarantee a spot on our travel roster. By fundraising on their own, it gave them that chance to still come to Kenya to see the difference we will make.  This generated a great deal of excitement, especially as the final days winded down and athletes were making final efforts to get more raffle tickets.

For Cassie Palmer, number 17 became a very lucky number!  That was the number randomly selected which resulted in something Cassie Palmer is still finding hard to believe.

"I am very excited and haven't really grasped the fact that I won yet," she said in an email to her friends and family.

"This is such an amazing opportunity that God has given me at this point in my life. I mean, a free trip to Africa to help impoverished villages in Kenya? Talk about giving thanks to the One who deserves it!"

Cassie, a graduated softball player at the University of North Carolina, was a veteran member of their Leadership Academy and majored in Communications. We are thrilled to have her joining us in Kenya.

"I am praying that this trip is life-changing and eye-opening for all of us traveling to Kenya, as well as for the people in the villages that we are serving."

CONGRATULATIONS CASSIE!
