Our Current Mission - Ecuador

We just returned from an incredible mission trip to Ecuador! SALSC sent a travel team of 18 to have a first-hand look at how the fundraising we did transformed Chismaute, a small rural community in Ecuador. 

During the trip, we dug the foundation, filled it with rocks, made cement and bricks, and completed the foundation of one of the schools we funded.  We also painted a mural on the wall of an existing classroom and worked on leadership activities with a girl's club in the community that SALSC has supported.  

It was an unbelievable experience. We got to know the culture of Ecuador by meeting and helping people in the community, visiting local markets and visiting historical landmarks. We are so proud to have not only raised $70,000, but to have sent such a passionate and hardworking group of people to put our plans into action. 

The trip was a huge success and we created memories that will last a lifetime.  We will continue to stay in touch with this community as well as Sikirar, Kenya where we went last year as these places will stay in our hearts even after we have left. 

SALSC is already thinking about NEXT STEPS!

We are planning two big missions for next summer, one national and one international.  A leadership summit and community project are in the works for Chicago, Illinois, while another Adopt-a-Villiage international project is being planned as well.
